Professional Bio

For the last 13 years, Angela has worked in the Banking Division of the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI).   She started her career as a bank examiner, responsible for the safety and soundness examination of banks ranging from $500 million to $20 billion.  In her current role, as Assistant Deputy Commissioner, she is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of 15 institutions, comprised of community, de novo, and regional banks.  She also oversees several foreign bank branches and representative offices.  Angela holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and is currently enrolled in the Graduate School of Banking at PCBS.  Angela is particularly committed to strengthening community banks, recognizing their critical role in supporting local economies, and is passionate about building strong partnerships with banking professionals to support a resilient financial system.
