Gen Sato

Gen joined the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco in 2019 and is based out of the Los Angeles Branch. As a Senior Risk Specialist, he leads BSA examinations at financial institutions within the 12th District. Prior to joining the Federal Reserve, Gen worked in the Financial Intelligence Units and Financial Crime Units of large multi-national banks, and as a criminal investigator for the State of New York, conducting Medicaid fraud and elder abuse investigations. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from California State University, Long Beach and a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice and Terrorism Studies from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. He holds both a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification.
